Project title: “Implementation of a process innovation and expansion of production capacity to support development and enhance the competitiveness of FM Lubaczów Sp. z o.o.”

The main objective of the project is to enhance the competitiveness of FML through an investment that will result in the implementation of a process innovation at the enterprise and regional level in the field of sheet metal straightening, as well as an increase in production capacity in CNC boring.

PROJECT EFFECTS AND RESULTS:

  1. a) change in the production method through the implementation of a process innovation in sheet metal straightening

  • increased process automation
  • reduction of process cycle time
  • improved flatness parameters of straightened sheets

As part of the project, three process innovations have been implemented within the Applicant’s enterprise—at the company, regional, and national levels—in the processes of welding, machining, and design of products, machining processes, and machine control. The innovations relate to the production of existing products (goods and services), in particular components and assemblies for the automotive industry.

The main objective of the project was to enhance the competitiveness of FML through an investment aimed at changing the production method by implementing three process innovations.

  • reduction of the turning–milling cycle by performing multiple operations in one setup

  • rapid development and implementation of machining programs
  • minimisation of irreversible errors in the process

Fabryka Maszyn Lubaczów Sp. z o.o. is implementing a project entitled “Improvement of energy efficiency through thermal modernisation and infrastructure modernisation” under the Operational Programme – European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027; Priority FENG.03 – Greening of enterprises; Action 3.01 – Green loan co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund – grant agreement No. FENG.03.01-IP.03-0220/23-00.

Project title: “Improvement of energy efficiency through thermal modernisation and infrastructure modernisation.”

The main objective of the project is to improve the energy efficiency of the infrastructure, including introducing a fundamental change in the machining process for producing part No. 01406435-0.

Scope of the project and planned effects:

  1. Thermal modernisation of the production hall.
    • primary energy savings of 97 MWh/year 
  2. Thermal modernisation of the office building.
    • primary energy savings of 16 MWh/year 
  3. Replacement of coal-fired boilers with biomass boilers.
    • reduction in primary energy demand by 1,809 MWh/year 
  4. Replacement of lighting with energy-efficient systems.
    • primary energy savings of 104 MWh/year 
  5. Replacement of heat pipelines with new, more energy-efficient systems together with the replacement of heat substations.
    • primary energy savings of 41 MWh/year 
  6. Construction of a photovoltaic installation.
    • reduction in primary energy consumption by 557 MWh/year 
  7. Replacement of the machining centre with a new, more energy-efficient one.

Fabryka Maszyn Lubaczów Sp. z o.o. has completed a project under the Operational Programme “Smart Growth” for 2014–2020, Priority Axis III – “Support for innovation in enterprises”, Action 3.2 “Support for the implementation of R&D results”, Sub-action 3.2.1 “Research for the market” – grant agreement No. POIR.03.02.01-18-0013/20-00 dated 09.12.2020.

Project title: “Implementation of the results of in-house and commissioned R&D works in order to introduce a new product in the form of a universal modular trolley for transporting tool cassettes and machines for welding plastics, and modification of the paint coating application process at FML Sp. z o.o.”

The objectives of the project are:

  • implementation of a new product in the form of a universal modular trolley for transporting tool cassettes and plastic welding machines, the design of which is the result of in-house R&D and has been optimised through computational studies commissioned from an external entity,
  • implementation of a new technology for applying paint coatings and preparing surfaces, developed by a scientific institution.

The result of the project is an increase in employment within the Beneficiary’s enterprise and an increase in its revenue from business activities.

Project objective: implementation of product innovation within the company.

Planned effects: introduction to the market of an entirely new product, namely a new plastic welding machine for the automotive industry, diversification of the range of services offered, and an increase in employment within the Company.
